Chris Groenendyk, Director of Operations.

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Chris got his start in the hospitality industry working in a grocery store. During his studies of Business Administration and Architectural technology, Chris then worked at the baseball stadium and Edmonton Northlands, managing various food service and beverage operations. Becoming part of the restaurant opening team for the Fuddrucker’s Burger chain and then moving to Ontario in 1989 to join the opening team for The Olive Garden, further strengthened his operational knowledge. One of his greatest thrills is having Wayne Gretzky hand him the Stanley Cup while working at Northlands Coliseum, home of the Edmonton Oilers.

Chris first joined the Catering by Gregory’s team in 1995 part time as a bartender and event manager. While pursuing a career in food service distribution sales, he continued working with the business, becoming a part owner and Director of Operations in August 2015.

Chris’ passion for excellence resulted in several sales awards, including Salesman of the year in 2005, and he continues with that passion, ensuring that every event with Catering by Gregory’s provides the best possible experience for all.
